Mega Ship Twin Sisters: Oasis and Allure

Published on 01/20/10

The Royal Caribbean Allure of the Seas will be the mega ship twin sister of the recent Oasis of the Seas! What’s the only thing better than a mega ship that carries over 6,000 guests and features more attractions and fun than you can imagine? TWO matching mega ships with tons of entertainment and plenty of space to stretch your legs!

That’s what Royal Caribbean has in mind with the larger-than-life twin sister ships the Oasis of the Seas and the Allure of the Seas. The Oasis of the Seas made a monumental introduction last year, with travelers actually lining the port hoping to snap a photo of the towering ship as it pulled up to the pier. And, those who have sailed on the Oasis of the Seas have reported back that with so much to do onboard, they want to sail again just to make sure they haven’t missed anything!

With seven unique neighborhoods, countless restaurants, innovative live entertainment, creative stateroom categories, and much more, the Oasis of the Seas is truly a one-of-a-kind experience – that is until December 12, 2010! On that date, Royal Caribbean plans to launch the second of its largest ships ever, the Allure of the Seas, to provide even more guests with the opportunity to enjoy a vacation onboard a record-breaking, mind-blowing mega ship.

The Allure of the Seas, sailing from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida on exciting Caribbean cruises, will feature seven themed neighborhoods also found onboard the Oasis of the Seas, each with special venues and public spaces to offer an unforgettable experience for guests. The Aqua Theater is among the most innovative highlights onboard the Allure of the Seas, a performance area consisting of platforms high above a pool for dive shows and aerial acrobatics, lights and fountains for mechanized shows, and cascading seating and balconies for the audience.

To accommodate its larger number of guests, the Allure of the Seas will feature several innovative stateroom categories including 28 contemporary Loft Suites. These hip suites feature double level accommodations, panoramic views, balconies, and more, and convey the atmosphere of a downtown flat. The Royal Loft Suite is the largest loft onboard the Allure of the Seas, featuring a Baby Grand Piano, its own Jacuzzi, and a private wet bar!

Kids onboard will benefit from an entire region of the ship dedicated to them called the Youth Zone – the largest area at sea reserved just for kids. Covering more than 28,000 square feet, the Youth Zone enhances Royal Caribbean’s Adventure Ocean program and includes the Workshop for crafts and hands-on learning, a Science Lab for interactive experiments and fun, the first-ever Ocean Theater especially for kids, and much more. Teens up to age 17 will enjoy the enlarged Fuel Disco, The Living Room, and various special events just for their age group.

The Allure of the Seas is a highly-anticipated addition to Royal Caribbean cruises, and as the twin sister of the impressive Oasis of the Seas, her fame precedes her. When the Allure of the Seas debuts in late 2010, she will introduce even more eager travelers to the world of mega ship cruising. With America’s Vacation Center, you can receive outstanding values on both of these exciting ships!
