Oceania Cruises' New Bon Appetit Culinary Studio

Published on 06/25/09

Oceania Cruises partners with Bon Appétit magazine to expand its onboard dining experience!Already known for some of the best dining at sea, Oceania Cruises is expanding its dining experience and features for guests. The cruise line’s newest ship, the Marina, will offer a culinary studio onboard, where America’s Vacation Center customers can participate in hands-on cooking classes and whip up gourmet dishes designed by Bon Appétit magazine in the studio’s state-of-the-art kitchen facility.

While many ships offer cooking demonstrations, the Marina (debuting in 2010) will offer a culinary studio designed with 22 cooking stations, training cook-tops, utensils, and every piece of cooking equipment imaginable to be the first to let guests actually prepare dishes for themselves. The culinary studio will host 45 minute to three hour workshops for guests of all skill levels from beginner to master-chefs. The classes will focus on specialties from chocolate making to spa cuisine, sausage cooking to basic techniques, and more!

Bon Appétit magazine and Oceania Cruises have partnered to bring chefs onboard for every Marina sailing. Each itinerary incorporates regional cultures and is designed with local ingredients in mind, for example, all Italy and Mediterranean cruises will stop in Amalfi for sea bass, Le Spezia for basil, and Taormina for swordfish and blood oranges. Striving to tie the onboard experience into the cruise destinations, passengers will tour local farmer’s markets with Oceania Cruises’ guest chefs to find ingredients that will be cooked up in the culinary studio.

The Marina has truly been designed for connoisseurs of delicious food and dining. In addition to the culinary studio and cooking workshops, the ship will feature 10 eateries including Oceania Cruises’ first Asian-fusion restaurant. Other restaurants include favorites like The Grand, a lido buffet, the Waves grill, the Italian Tosca, the Polo Grill steakhouse, and Tapas on the Terrace. Oceania Cruises also offers select culinary-themed shore excursions on its Nautica, Regatta, and Insignia ships.

Whether you are a master chef or you can hardly boil water, there is a foodie-minded adventure waiting for you onboard Oceania Cruises’ new Marina, which is set to debut in 2010. Satisfy your craving for vacation and call America’s Vacation Center today to book your dream cruise and to learn more about upcoming Oceania Cruises sailings!
