Sailing the Douro River through Spain and Portugal, the Uniworld Douro Queen provides an intimate experience for each of its 126 guests, stopping at the heart of each destination and giving travelers unlimited access to coveted cities and unforgettable sites.
The Douro Queen features panoramic restaurants with open seating and offers guests complimentary wine during dinner.
The Douro Queen holds 65 cabins, each with an up-close and personal view of the passing scenery from small French Balconies. All cabins are equipped with a vanity, makeup mirror, spacious closet space, a hair dryer, individual air conditioning, a direct-dial telephone, a flat screen TV, and a private bathroom.
On the Douro Queen’s Sun Deck, guests will enjoy lounging in the open air, cooling off in the refreshing swimming pool, and relaxing in one of the two hot tubs.
There is no casino onboard the Douro Queen.
The beautiful lounge onboard the Douro Queen is the perfect place to unwind, laugh with friends, and share quiet moments at the close of each day. The lounge features a full-service bar, to satisfy every taste and preference.
There is no spa featured on the Douro Queen.
Passengers under 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult who is 21 or over. Uniworld notes that most young children do not enjoy the Uniworld experience, and though they are allowed onboard, there are no special activities or arrangements to accommodate them. Uniworld does offer “family cruises” on select itineraries during the Summer months.
Guests will enjoy perusing the Shop on the lower deck of the Douro Queen.
Dress onboard is typically resort casual, with the exception of a few formal events which require coat and tie for men and cocktail attire for women.
On Uniworld’s ships in Europe, there is a suggested 2-3 euro per day, per person for the local guide, and 1-2 euro for the driver. At the end of each trip there are two envelopes, one for the crew and the other for the tour manager. Uniworld’s suggestion for tips at the end of the cruise is 3 euro for the tour manager and 10 euro for the crew, per person, per day. Only cash is accepted as tips.
