Royal Caribbean Voyager of the Seas entered service as the world’s largest cruise ship on November 21, 1999 at 138,000 gross tons, accommodating 3,114 guests. Keeping with their tradition of innovation, Royal Caribbean revolutionized the cruise industry with the creation of Voyager of the Seas, the first of five Voyager class cruise ships. Voyager of the Seas boasted many cruise “firsts” including the first ice-skating rink at sea, rock climbing wall, in-line skating track, and Royal Promenade; a busting boulevard over a football field long, lined with cafés and shops and open twenty-four hours a day. Voyager of the Seas, a revolutionary marvel, added more space for guests and upgraded their onboard experience through enhanced staterooms, a variety of dining options, and adventurous activities. Voyager of the Seas sets sail from her home port of Galveston, Texas in the United States and from various ports in Europe, the majority of cruises leaving from Barcelona.
