Royal Caribbean Independence of the Seas is the third of three Freedom class cruise ships, currently the world’s largest class of cruise ships at sea until Royal Caribbean International’s Oasis class debuts in December 2009. Freedom of the Seas weights in at 160,000 gross tons and accommodates 3,634 guests at double occupancy. Independence of the Seas offers all the amazing Freedom class features including a FlowRider® surf park, H20 Zone water park, cantilevered whirlpools extending twelve feet beyond the sides of the ship, extensive WiFi capabilities, and kids programs for children from six months old to seventeen years of age. For the next two summers, Independence of the Seas will be ported in Southampton, England with a variety of itineraries throughout Europe, serving both American and British guests. For the rest of the year, this Royal Caribbean cruise ship will sail from her home port of Fort Lauderdale, Florida with Royal Caribbean cruises to Eastern Caribbean and Western Caribbean.
