Dining

Declaring Oceania's cuisine to be “the finest at sea” may seem rather audacious. But once you dine with us, the very moment you taste the first delectable morsel, you will instantly become a believer. Their cuisine is that outrageous, the difference that noticeable. After all, their 5-star menus are the inspired creation of our Executive Culinary Director, the legendary Jacques Pépin, who gleefully unleashed his artistry to conceive a bounty of culinary masterpieces, each meant to dazzle the eye and impress the palate.

Simply describing them whips the senses into a state of heightened anticipation. Sevruga Caviar served atop Buckwheat Blinis. Pink-roasted Duck Magret with Poppy Seed Honey Glaze. Dry-aged Black Angus Fillet of Beef Wellington accompanied by a Shiraz Red Wine Reduction. Grilled Fresh Atlantic Turbot with a Basil and Champagne Beurre Blanc. The pairing of fresh ingredients is sheer genius, a testimony to Chef Pépin’s determination to please your palate unequivocally. Nothing has escaped his attention, including alternative offerings such as delightful vegetarian dishes, Asian-influenced Woks of the Day, and authentic Italian Risottos and Pastas. Diners seeking lighter, lower calorie dishes may choose from our equally delicious Oceania Spa Cuisine Menu. And to complement each fabulous meal, our sommeliers will thoughtfully suggest the perfect wine and vintage from the more than 150 cellar selections.

Guests will also enjoy an impressive variety of restaurants, each with its own distinct décor, personality, ambiance and gourmet menu. Our open-seating policy frees you to dine where, when and with whom you wish. In the evening, savor French-inspired Continental cuisine in the Grand Dining Room, classic steakhouse selections in the elegant Polo Grill, gourmet Italian fare in romantic Toscana, or an informal Mediterranean-influenced buffet at Tapas on the Terrace.

Lunch tantalizes, as well, be it in the sun-splashed Terrace Café, our genuine Pizzeria, or Waves, the casual poolside grill that serves mouthwatering grilled fare, specialty sandwiches and sumptuous salads. If you prefer a more traditional lunch or breakfast, the sophisticated Grand Dining Room is the perfect venue. You may even dine privately in your suite or cabin, selecting from an extensive, 24-hour room service menu. Cabins

Owner's and Vista Suites:
For those who seek life's ultimate pleasures, these suites feature floor-to-ceiling glass doors, which open to a wraparound private veranda, allowing you to savor spectacular ocean views from your living room, dining area, and spacious bedroom. Relax in your private whirlpool spa or watch movies and news coverage on your two color televisions. A complete entertainment center also features a DVD and CD player and a refrigerated mini-bar. Outdoors, the veranda is furnished with comfortable chaises, table and deck chairs. There is even a separate guest bathroom and 24-hour butler service.

Penthouse Suite:
Watch the sun rise over a distant land as you sip the morning's first cup of freshly brewed coffee on your own private veranda. You'll feel like royalty in these elegant suites with large sliding glass doors and 24-hour butler service. These suites offer all the amenities you'd expect to find in a world-class hotel - comfortable seating, an intimate area for private in-room dining, refrigerated mini-bar and ample closet space. 322 square feet (Located on deck eight). Concierge Level Veranda:
Note: Concierge Level class of service will be launched on Regatta and Insignia beginning in April 2005. A tasteful example of understated elegance, our Concierge Level cabins boast a private teak veranda, as well as a preferred location on Decks 7 and 8 of Regatta and Insignia. They offer such room amenities as a welcome bottle of champagne; a refrigerated mini-bar; TV and DVD player; personalized stationary; our exclusive Tranquility Bed featuring 350 thread count Egyptian cotton linens; a cashmere throw blanket; a complimentary tote bag and bathroom fixtures including a hand held hairdryer, Hansgrohe massaging shower heads and luxury toiletries. In addition to the cabin amenities, Oceania Cruises’ Concierge Level cabins also offer guests special service enhancements: Priority embarkation with a dedicated check-in desk and priority luggage delivery; priority restaurant reservations and complimentary shoeshine service.

Veranda Cabin:
There is nothing quite so relaxing as lounging in your own private veranda looking out over spectacular seascapes and exotic ports. Deluxe Ocean View Cabin:
Open the door to your cabin and you will immediately sense the attention to detail, from the custom-designed furnishings to the fashionable fabrics and spacious bathroom. These spacious cabins feature a comfortable sitting area and small breakfast table.

You might recognize some of our speakers as newsmakers themselves, who have shaped world events, and now eagerly share their insider’s perspective. Wouldn’t you love to meet an ambassador face-to-face and discuss the intricacies of foreign policy? Think how fascinating it would be to sit across from a bestselling author and discover the inspiration for a favorite book? Oceania is just as passionate about their musical entertainment. Their 8-piece orchestra has been hailed as “the best at sea,” a distinction they earn time and again by displaying their prodigious talents in concert. Will luck be a lady tonight? See for yourself by trying your hand at an exciting game. The casino features Blackjack, Roulette, Poker, and a variety of slot machines for your gaming pleasure.

Guests must be at least 18 years of age to enter and use this Las Vegas-style facility, which operates only while the ship is sailing in international waters, and during the hours listed in Oceania Currents, the ship’s daily newsletter.

The professional casino staff will be happy to provide Guests with instructions and rules of each game.

Fitness / Recreation

Oceania Nautica Cruises would never presume to know what each guest wishes to do each waking moment. So to ensure that guests can always find an activity to their liking, their solution is that guests can always find an activity to their liking, their solution is to present every diversion imaginable. If you prefer planned activities, simply consult the daily onboard newsletter, Currents, for a listing of events such as culinary demonstrations, wine tastings, art auctions and stimulating lectures. If you’d rather not follow a timetable, feel free to do whatever you choose, whenever you choose. Start the day with an energizing workout in the fitness center. Shop in the two stylish boutiques. Send emails to friends and family. Lie back on a teak lounger and sip an ice-cold beverage. Take a refreshing swim then slip into a soothing whirlpool. Or do nothing more enterprising than ease into a comfortable couch with a good book in the English-style library. It’s your choice.

Card Room
Beautifully decorated, immensely comfortable and wonderfully serene, the Card Room is an ideal setting for a friendly game of bridge. We also hold bridge tournaments on each cruise for guests who like the challenge of competition. For a change of pace, numerous board games are also available.

Fitness Center
So many of Oceania's guests love to exercise, so their fitness center is absolutely state-of-the-art. You’ll find equipment for a cardiovascular workout, weight stations to tone specific muscles and spectacular views throughout to make your exercise routine all the more enjoyable. If you require expert guidance, personal trainers are on hand, or you can participate in classes devoted to yoga, aerobics, Pilates and more.

Travel to the most remote, exotic lands and never be out of touch. Our Internet Center is open around the clock, so you can stay connected with the loved ones through email, check the latest business news and stock prices, or research your next port of call. If you’re a computer novice, our computer staff will gladly provide private lessons. Or join our group classes in subjects ranging from beginner’s level Microsoft XP to image retouching with Adobe Photoshop Elements.

Dress Code

Recommended onboard clothing for Nautica cruises is resort or country club casual. For evening dining, elegant casual resort wear is suggested. Oceania Cruises requests that jeans, shorts, t-shirts or tennis shoes not be worn at dinner.

Gratuity / Tipping

How much you choose to tip is a personal matter and completely at your discretion. For your convenience, a suggested gratuity in recognition of outstanding personal service of $11.50 per Guest, per day, will automatically be added to your shipboard account. Gratuities are combined in a pool due to the fact that the ship offers multiple open-seating venues and you will likely be served by many different staff members during the course of your stay onboard.

An 18% gratuity is automatically added to all beverage purchases. Naturally, you may increase or decrease gratuities at your sole discretion.

Guests occupying a Penthouse, Vista or Owner’s Suite will have an additional $3.50 gratuity per Guest, per day added in recognition of outstanding Butler Service.
